My Services
Caring FOUR your horse’s hooves with balanced trims and shoes.
Balanced Trims
Balanced hoof trimming to keep your horse comfortable and healthy.
My goal in trimming is to maintain a healthy, non-distorted hoof capsule that will balance the foot to maintain the health of internal structures and minimize strain, stress, and wear on soft tissue.
To meet this goal, I use hoof mapping to locate internal structures and look at landmarks such as the coronary band, frog, bars, heels, and white line to assess distortions. These tools help me to determine what and where to trim in order to maintain balance around the coffin joint.
Metal Shoes
Metal shoes with various pads and hoof packings for individualized needs.
I stock Khan C8, St. Croix Eventer, Natural Balance, and Avanti (PLR) shoes on my truck. Other shoes can be ordered as needed to meet the needs of the horse.
I also carry hoof packings (Artimud, Magic Cushion, oakum, DIM), pads, wedge pads, frog support pads, snow pads, and studs.
I shape shoes hot using the forge and anvil in my truck, and I can apply them to the horse's foot either hot or cold as the horse tolerates or prefers.
Glue-on composite shoes tailored to your horse.
I offer Easy Care glue on composite shoes. These shoes offer the benefits of absorbing concussion, supporting the back of the foot, and flexing to allow for natural expansion and contraction in the hoof during movement.
The attachment method is also ideal for horses with thin or weak hoof wall that is difficult to nail to.
These shoes are quite durable and adhere reliably. They will need to be reapplied every 6-8 weeks in coordination with your horse's trim cycle.
Specialty Shoes

I also offer some therapeutic shoeing options, which might be achieved by modifying a glue-on or metal shoe. I welcome collaboration with owner, veterinarian, equine body worker, trainer, and nutritionist teams; I believe that teamwork provides the best outcomes for our horses.
